IMO: 18 Bodies Found in Niger Desert.

Geneva, 15 June 2015(Lana) The International Migration
Organisation Sunday said 18 bodies of migrants from west Africa were
found in the desert of Niger near the town of Arlit, who were trying
to reach Europe via Libya.
'The incident is an indication of how difficult such journey even
before reaching the boats in Libya, the Head of IMO Mission in Niger
Gossip Lobreit said.
IMO said increasing numbers of west Africa nationals have
attempted the hazardous journey this year, though most of them from
Syria and Eritrea.
Running patrols to prevent the death of migrants across the
desert is almost impossible, Lobereit said.
The victims 17 men and a woman belong to eight countries
including Mali, Senegal, Coth D'Avoire and Guinea, who were traveling
in a four wheel drive van, but strayed in a storm in the desert and
ran out of fuel.
