Interior Ministry's Deputy for Exits Affairs and immigration Assures that Illegal Immigration not New and Libya Transit Country Like Some Countries.

Tripoli : 20. 5. 2015 - Lana - Interior Ministry's Deputy for Exits Affairs and immigration Colonel, '' Nur -Eddien Al-Mishaal '' has underlined that illegal immigration is not new and Libya is not responsible for the immigration since it is a transit country like some other countries. In a press conference today in Tripoli, Mr. '' Al-Mishaal '' mentioned that immigration to Europe comes from neighboring countries and others and that Libyans not in need of migration to Europe, but others from poor countries migrate mainly for economic reasons . He asserted that Libya is transit country to Italy then to other European countries since those Immigrants speak English and French Languages that will help them to improve their living conditions... Indicating that Libya has individual agreements with some EU member states to combat illegal immigration . The first agreement between Libya and Italy was signed in 2000 in fighting terrorism , organized crime, drugs trade and illegal immigration; while the second agreement was also with Italy in 2007 which was technical and logistic to fight illegal immigration . There was also another agreement with Malta concerning immigration . Mr.'' Al-Mishaal '' went on to say that Libya is serious in fighting illegal immigration because it is harmed by such immigration many of which suffer infectious diseases and others have criminal behavior ; besides Libya shoulders heavy financial burden in providing means shelter and health care, as well as deportation costs of those thousands of immigrants . As a result , Libya issued Law no.( 19 ) for 2010 to fight illegal immigration. He noticed that some European countries wage media attack on Libya accusing it of being negligent in fighting illegal immigration . Mr. '' Al-Mishaal '' said , we ask Italian government to exchange information regarding illegal immigration adding that Libya has southern borders and very long coastal strip which makes it difficult to control.. referring that there are between ( 17.000 and 18.000 ) illegal immigrants in gathering centers waiting for deportation to their countries. He pointed out that Anti -Immigration Body is assigned to carry out a campaign anti- illegal immigrants where many were detained belonging to several countries including Egypt , Sudan , Syria , Tunisia and Morocco. = Lana =
