Italy's Premier Accuses EU Countries of Backing out of Their Commitment to Quota of Illegal Migrants.

Rome, 20 May 2105(Lana) Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renze has
accused EU partners of backtracking on their commitment to accept a
quota of illegal migrants, demanding that the problem of migrants in
the Mediterranean be seriously addressed.
The EU has conceded that the problem isn't Italy's alone, and
agreed to send the ships, and now they have to accept the quota,
Renze told the Italian Television RAI.
He said Britain has said promptly it opposed to it and to
withdraw, and now France and Spain are creating problems over the
quota system.
The quest for an agreement over the issue before the EU regular
summit on June 25 and 26, means the EU is reacting slowly to the
problem and is no hurry, Renze said.
EU countries on Monday agreed to set up a marine operation
against traffickers off the Libyan coast, though differences appeared
between members over some provisions of the wider plan for dealing
with the migrants issue and over the quota.
