EU Officially Approves Military Operations to Combat Illegal Immigration .

Brussels : 18 . 5. 2015 - Lana - High Representitive of EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy , '' Federica Mogherini '' declared Monday that the EU officially approved carrying out military operations to combat illegal immigration in the Mediterranean . In press conference , '' Mogherini '' said : '' The resolution has been taken to carry out naval operations by the EU to put out of service the work of human smuggling operations in the Mediterranean ''. She added , preparations have begun to launch the operation as of next June , after knowing kind and size of contributions by member states in these operations . Mogherini has stressed the need for a resolution under Seventh Chapter of the UN to give this operation a firm legal framework. In case of UN approval , The Europeans can board those boats used to smuggle illegal immigrants and to inspect or confiscate them and to foce them to change their course at high seas and in Libyan terrirorial waters . = Lana =
