European Ministers : We Don't Want to Invade Libya But to Confront Smugglers of Illegal Immigrants .

Brussels : 18. 5. 2018 - Lana - Foreign Ministers of number of EU
member states have assures that the aim of naval operation approved
today in the Mediterranean not to invade Libya , but to confront
illegal immigration .
In the context , The Foreign Minister of Luxemburg Mr. '' Jean
Asselborn '' has emphasized that Europe wanted to put out of service
the boats that carry out smuggling operations and there would be no
intention to bomb them ''.
Here pointed out that there should be several conditions in order
to actually start this operation including Security Council
resolution in this respect and approval of Libyan sides.
On his part , British Foreign Minister , '' Philip Hammond ''
underlined the need to set up plans by the EU to be acceptable by
Libyans Explaining that the final goal remains to dismantle smugglers
networks and to break down their boats to deter them of practicing
this illegal action .
In their statements , the European ministers expressed their
optimism that Security Council consultation would lead to approving
the required resolution .
