London, 12 May 2105(Lana) The British Government has reiterated
its commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Libya,
and using of the country's resources for the good of all its people.
In a statement on Monday, the British Foreign Office said 'at a
time when the political process led by the UN is making progress
towards ending the conflict in Libya, we express our concern over
attempts to divert Libya's resources in favor of special interests of
one party of conflict and obstruction of financial and economic
institutions which represent all Libyans.'
'We again stress that we expect all parties representing
independent Libyan institutions specifically the Central Bank of
Libya, the Investment authority, the National Oil Company and the
Telecommunications to continue to work in the best interest of the
people until new and unified state structures are in place.'
The Ministry said Libya was lucky to possess the resources which
enable it to live in peace and prosperity, and which have an impact
on the region a whole.
It called on Libyans to back the independence of the financial
and economic institutions in the country.
