Head of NSG Asks for US Assistance to Get Libya out of its Crisis.

Tripoli, 12 May 2105(Lana) The Head of National Salvation
Government Khalifa Al Ghuweil has asked the United States to take a
swift move to peacefully help Libya restore stability and end its
crisis.
In a televised statement on Monday, Al Ghuweil thanked the US for
its support, namely by leading a coalition that helped topple the
former regime in 2011.
Al Ghuweil said he looked forward to the US finishing its leading
role by assisting the people of Libya reach a national consensus, and
set up a democratic state.
'We rely on the US to play a key role in restoring stability and
peace in Libya, Al Ghuweil said.
'The National Salvation Government was formed to save the country
from the coup plotters and the outlaw, it was a government for all
Libyans, which was emanated from a legitimate body the General
National Congress that's upheld by the rule of the constitutional
court which dissolved the parliament, he said.
He welcomed any effort aimed at helping dialogue between Libyans
and achieve reconciliation between Libyan cities.
He said his government looks to forming economic and trade
relations with the US government, and utilize US expertise to upgrade
the economy especially in the oil and gas sector.
All sovereign institutions are owned by all Libyans including the
Central Bank of Libya, National Oil Company, the Foreign Investment
Authority and others, he added.
He pledged support by the NSG of international effort to push
forward the dialogue process and bring about national consensus.
He urged key international players particularly the US to
shoulder their responsibility towards Libya and its people, calling
on them not to leave Libya to become a haven of terrorist and
extremist groups.
He extended a invitation for US congressmen to visit Libya to
have get a firsthand account of the Government effort to run the
country, ensure security and combat corruption.
