Plan to Set up Several Desalination Plants to End Water Problems.

Tripoli, 10 May 2015(Lana) The NSG Minister of Planning Mohamed
Al Gadar has revealed that the National Salvation Government was
planning several desalination plants to bring an end to the water
problem in the country.
The proposed plants cover the areas of Ghout Al Ruman, Gafara, Al
Zawiya, Zwara and other along the coast, Al Gadar told the Libyan
news agency, following a meeting designed to discuss the water cut
off, which was attended by Minister of water Resources, Naji Abdul
Rahman, Director of Water and Sewer Co., and representatives of US
companies Aco Swiss and General Electric.
The Minister said hardships facing establishment of desalination
plant have in these areas been overcome, to bring about a alternative
to the Man-made River, by way of engaging investors in those
projects.
The Minister who highlighted the results o the meeting,
attributed the water outage in the capital to old network and
shortage of water.
