Media Academicians Institution launched at Tripoli University.

Tripoli, 07.05.2015(Lana) Media Academicians Institution was launched Thursday at Tripoli University. It is the first civil society institution of its kind and comprise media and journalism scholars. The inauguration ceremony was commenced by speeches introducing this new entity, its vision, goals and message as an independent institution that aimed at promoting this vital sector in society by preparing research and media studies and organizing workshops related to the field. The criteria for joining this entity was also explained and which include either an MA or a PhD in media and journalism in order to create an academic climate that contributes to checking and controlling the media discourse in a balanced manner that responds to the interest and prerequisites of the homeland. Chairman of the board of Media Academicians Institution, Dr Mohamed Al-Asfar said" we endeavor to bring all media men tighter and narrow view points by controlling the media discourse, as there is willingness to join this nascent institution from across the country'. At the sideline of the inauguration ceremony a seminar was organized covering several topics such as goals and vision of this new entity and view points of the participants vis-a vis Media Academicians Institution. This institution held its first founding conference on March 3 in Tripoli at the Libyan Graduate Studies Academy. =Lana=
