Arab Gulf company: Closure of Nafura Oil Field due to closure of a pipeline.
Pulbished on:
Benghazi, 07.05.2015(Lana) Spokesman of Arab Gulf company
said Thursday that the closure of Nafura Oil Field was due to the
closure of the pipeline linking the oil field with Zawitina port in
the east of the country.
The protests caused the closure of several oil fields and ports
during the past two weeks and collapse of state authority.
Reuters quoted the spokesman as saying that the oil field was
producing between 30 to 35 thousand barrels. The protestors asking
for jobs closed the flow of oil to Zawittina this week.
Reuters said National Oil Corporation did not release production
figures recently, however sources at the sector estimate Libya's
production at less than 400,000 barrels per day compared to 1.6
billion barrels in 2010.
