NSG underscores consolidation of freedom of press and stifling of voices.

underlined that it is working to consolidate freedom of the press and
media outlets as media and press play a prominent and important role
in the transition from revolution to state.
In a statement last night NSG congratulated all journalists
locally and abroad on World Press Freedom Day, stressing that
freedom of expression is guaranteed by the Constitutional
Declaration.
" At the time some try to stifle the voices and undermine freedom
of expression through attacks on journalists, NSG condemns such acts
from which neither local nor international journalists interested in
the Libyan affair have escaped"
The Government expressed concern and sorrow for the kidnapping of
the two Tunisian journalists in the light of no information is
available about the identity of their kidnappers or their whereabouts
and whether they are still alive or not.
It said it would make its utmost and render all its resources to
look for them and learn about the circumstances of their kidnapping
and make those involved in their kidnapping face the law and face the
most severe penalty.
