sources underlined that hosting workshops is in order to come up
with practical work plans conducive to development in the country.
They said the workshop that is currently organized was a
contribution from the ministry to creating a sustainable environment
on Libyan soil by completing housing and infrastructure projects and
providing appropriate and hygienic housing for all segments of
society and narrowing the housing gap in the country and launching
competition between the private and the banking sector and provide
them with the opportunity to build the country.
The sources said the goals of the workshop is in line with
policies pursued in many countries to strengthen the role of the
private sector and shift to the market economy and getting liberated
from restrictions hampering investment.
The workshop was also designed to revive national economy through
public and private partnerships and enabling the private and banking
sectors completed halted housing and infrastructure projects.
The workshop organized by Housing and Utilities Ministry and
entitled; " By Reconstruction and Investment Libya would enjoy
Stability" continued Tuesday morning and during which several papers
were presented and discussed by experts.
Head of National Salvation Government, Dr Khalifa Al-Ghawil
underlined in speech yesterday at the workshop the importance of
development and housing and their role in promoting social security,
enhancing living standards and satisfying aspirations of the Libyan
people.
Al-Ghawil also called for the need to reconsider some development
projects, discuss their difficulties being the economic drive of the
economic wheel and development of any country.
He appealed to all Libyans to forget their hatreds and cooperate
to make use of their resources and endeavour to build their modern
state.
Minister of Housing and Utilities, Hisham Al-Haj on his part
said the goal of organizing this workshop was to shift Libya from a
state full sponsorship of its projects into engaging the private
sector thereby preparing the good environments, the private sector
is the main state partner and supporter.
He also noted the significance of cooperation between the banks
and the private sector.
