Al Sukheirat, Morocco, 19 April 2105(Lana) The 4th round of the
talks y the Libyan parties to the conflict was resumed here on
Saturday, in a UN-led attempt to bring about a solution to the crisis
in the country.
The meeting came after the parties handed over to the UN envoy
notes on the draft agreement of political transition in Libya,
including key issues of consentaneous government and the security
arrangements.
UNSMIL Spokesman Samir Ghatas said the mission on Friday dwelt on
an effort to narrow the gap between the proposals put forward by the
parties of the conflict to end political and military strife in the
country.
The current round which kicked off Wednesday focused on the ideas
submitted by the UN envoy for the parties to expedite the talks.
They call for formation of a national unity government, a
presidency council and a house of representatives, in addition to a
higher state council and a constituent assembly.
UNSMIL plans, if talks succeed, to move to the next phase,
discussing establishment of the national security council and the
Municipalities council.
