Tunisian government to assess situation of Libyan airports to resume air links between the two countries.

Tunis, 16.04.2015(Lana) The Tunisian government announced
Thursday to send an assessment committee within the next 48 hours to
assess situation of Libyan airports to resume air links between the
two countries.
The Tunisian news agency quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman,
Al-Shawashi as saying that the committee comprise representatives
from Ministries of Interior and Transport and airline companies and
would work in coordination and cooperation with the Foreign ministry
and Tunisian Consulate in Libya.
He said the airports to be visited by the committee would include
Maitiqa, Zawara, Misrata, Al-Abruq and Tobrouq.
Al-Shawashi noted that the visit would assess the airports in
terms of safety and based on its outcome a decision would be taken on
issue of resumption of air flights between the two countries , noting
that the decision was taken after a review by the relevant Tunisian
authorities.
Al-Shawashi said the Tunisian assessment is purely connected to
safety issue and nothing else stressing that safety is fundamental.
He considered resumption of air flights between Tunisia and
Libya is conducive to the interests of both countries and peoples and
responds to economic goals of air companies in both Tunisia and
Libya.
