European Parliament Stresses Need for Urgent Solution to Libyan Crisis.

Brussels, 16 April 2105(Lana) The President of the European
Parliament Martin Shultz has called for an end to the crisis in
Libya, deploring what was circulated in the news about death of some
400 immigrants off the Libyan coast.
'These events show once more the extent of the instability in
Libya, and the urgent need to bring about a solution to a conflict,
the price of which Libyans inside and outside the country pay.
He noted that last week alone, Italian authorities have rescued
more than 6000 immigrants in the Mediterranean, while the
International Migration Organisation has recorded nearly 900 deaths
since the start of the year.
The case of immigration and refugees in the Mediterranean are not
connected to certain countries, and the EU has to deal with them,
because it became the most dangerous border internationally, and we
have to show solidarity and confront this common challenge, Shultz
said.
