Parliament-Appointed Government.
Tripoli, 9 April 2105(Lana) The National Salvation Government
said it was surprised by statement 31, issued by the Tobrok-based
government in reaction to efforts being taken by the NSG and the
Audit Office to fight administrative and financial corruption.
The NSG said the step, taken by Audit Office was aimed to curb
the violations in the employment sector namely duplication of jobs,
where it succeeded in saving billions of dinars, and creating 60000
jobs which would ease unemployment especially among the young.
The NSG said the decision to use the national number in payment
of salaries was approved by the General National Congress government
led Ali Zaidan, right before the legislative conflict erupted in the
country.
It said it sought to put the decision in practice in response to
the dire requirements of the critical period in which Libya is going
through, and to offset the strangling financial crisis caused by the
halt of oil exports and the falling oil prices for a prolonged period
of time, but not for the reasons indicated in the statement.
The NSG said it would spare no pains to protect public money with
all available means in line with the competent laws.
It said improving the living standards of the citizens of Libya
would not be attained by publishing misleading statements, but rather
by following a proactive policies to combat administrative and
financial corruption to ensure success of development projects and
better life for the citizens.
It referred to the UN Resolution No. 2213 issued on March 27,
which lauded NSG effort to rationalize government spending which the
government initiated in collaboration with the Audit Office.
The NSG Government urged financial controllers in the eastern
region to expedite their work on preparing lists of national numbers
of public servants and send them to the NSG Ministry of Finance
without delay or manipulation for political reasons which could lead
to deprive the citizens from getting their salaries in due time.
