Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 26 March 2015(Lana) The UN Support Mission in Libya has
expressed deep concern over the continued violence in Libya and
called for an immediate halt.
In a statement on Wednesday, UNSMIL said the fighting, explosions
and kidnappings aggravate the suffering of the ordinary people and
undermine the positive spirit displayed by the participants in the
political dialogue in Morocco.
It called on the warring factions in Obari to halt the fight, and
warned against attacking civilians and committing human rights
violations because they are acts punishable under international law
and perpetrators would be prosecuted.
Kidnappings negatively impact the talks currently conducted in
Morocco, and negatively impact the positive spirit displayed by the
participants in the political dialogue in Morocco, UNSMIL said,
stressing that there would be no tolerance for these acts.
