Local and Municipal Councils Wind up Talks in Brussels.

Tripoli, 25 March 2015(Lana) Representatives of Libyan local and
Municipal councils wound up a two day UN-EU-brokered meeting in
Brussels, which was devoted to local councils as part of the Dialogue
to discuss the crisis in the country.
UNSMIL said in a press release yesterday, the 31 representatives
from all over Libya have concluded their meeting in Brussels, which
focused on confidence-building measures agreed at an earlier meeting
in Geneva.
The meeting discussed other issues including challenges facing
the municipal councils, humanitarian assistance and the release of
prisoners, as well as the issues of the displaced inside and outside
Libya and upgrading airports.
The participants have agreed on a number of items including
support for the political dialogue, formation of a national unity
government, a ceasefire and a halt of attacks against airports and
other state facilities.
The representatives of local and municipal councils have also
agreed on a call for the armed groups to withdraw from all cities, to
condemn incitement to hatred, and to call for a total respect of the
rights of detainees, the press release said.
They called for a return of all displaced people to their homes
in a period no later than December 2015.
