Interior Ministry Strongly Condemns Blast Which Targeted Al Ghiran Police Checkpoint.

Tripoli, 16 March 2015(Lana) The Interior Ministry has strongly condemned the explosion which targeted the Al Ghiran checkpoint in Janzour, on the western approaches of Tripoli on Sunday. In a statement on Monday, a copy of which was obtained by the Libyan news agency, the Ministry said the pre-planned act was designed to destabilize the state, create panic among the Police force, as well as negatively impacting the national dialogue talks. The Ministry said it has opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blast, to bring the culprits to justice. It appealed to its affiliates to be on full alert to confront these dastard acts, and to track down and strike against all those who dare undermine the security and stability of homeland. It said two policemen have died in the blast, and said it extended the heartfelt condolences and sympathy with their families. It named the martyrs as Husain Ismail Al Rifie, and Abdul Wahid Al Sharef. =Lana=
