Libyan student gets British young scientist award for 2015.

Tripoli, 15.03.2015 (Lana) Libyan student, Sara Tariq Sebkha from
Zuwara city got the British 2015 youngest scientist award for her
contribution to the discovery of a treatment for the fatal hereditary
disease, cystic fibrosis.
The 17 year old Sara who studies at Sheffield Secondary school
was honoured by the British prime Minister David Cameroon.
The competition which Sara won this year is held annually in
Britain and it is open for all ages between 11- 18 and aimed at
honouring and awarding youth achievements in sciences, technology,
engineering and mats.
Sara attributed her interest in discovering a treatment for a
hereditary disease to inspiration of work of humanitarian
organizations in Libya to help the public.
The project she worked on was based on a study of a particular
protein causing cystic fibrosis, and once completed it would enable a
better and cheap treatment for this hereditary disease, she
explained.
