Pulbished on:
Algiers, 11 March 2015(Lana) Algeria has excluded the military solution to the Libyan crisis, which it said can only be solved through political consensus. Algerian Prime Minister Abdul Malik Salal said on Tuesday his country rejected the military solution, stressing that the solution is through political consensus only. In a press conference with his Portuguese counterpart Pedro Babos, Salal said 'everyone know that we are advocates of peace, and crises of any kind have to have a political solution, not directly a military solution which could make things worse.' Salal reaffirmed Algeria's support to Libyan antagonists in their meeting in Algeria, 'which emanates from Algeria's principle of non-interference and the principle of defending the integrity of homeland.' He said 'Algeria supported pluralism but rejects division of the territory.' 'After the good results we were able to achieve in Mali and Tunisia, we hope that we will be able to reach a satisfactory results in Libya though the problem is bigger in this country.' He expressed hope that the 'Algerian approach would prevail, for the sole benefit of the people of Libya.' Libyan political leader and civil activists met in Algiers on Tuesday as part of the UN-sponsored dialogue in a bid to end the political and security crisis rocking the country since 2011. =Lana=
