EU and UN discuss security issues in Libya.

Riga, 07.03.2015(Lana) The High EU Commissioner for security and
foreign policy, Federica Mogherini, said the EU and the UN discussed
means for promoting security in Libya, including naval presence if
the UN-sponsored peace talks between Libyan parties led to a
settlement.
Mogherini said, in a press conference in the Latvian capital Riga
that the EU could increase its presence in the Mediterranean Sea to
assist in rescuing migrants.
Italian foreign minister said the EU looks forward to promoting
its naval operations to assist in the rescue of migrants and promote
security as well.
He added that there are operations by Italian navy to prevent
terror threats, which greatly relies on the success of the Libya
negotiations.
