NOC Declares 'Force Major' in 11 Oil Fields.

Tripoli, 5 March 2015(Lana) The National Oil Company yesterday
declared the state of 'force major' at 11 oil fields, following
attacks against the fields as the security situation deteriorated in
the country.
In a statement, the company said 'as a result of the serious
events which are escalating by the day, targeting the resources of
the Libyan people by stealing and destroying the oil fields, the
National Oil Company is obliged to declare, and urgently, the state
of 'force major' at a number of fields.'
The NOC said the fields covered by the declaration include Al
Mabrouk, Al bahi, Al Dahra, Al Jufra, Tibisti, Al Ghani, Al Naga, Al
Samah, Al Beidha, Al Waha and ala Dafa.
'If the state of 'force major' prevails, the NOC will be forced
to close down all fields and terminals, and will invoke all
responsible public and private bodies to shoulder their
responsibilities to protect oil installations, the statement said.
