African Ministerial Conference on the Environment Kicks off in Cairo.

Cairo, 2 March 2015(Lana) The Conference of African Ministers of
Environment kicked off here on Monday under the theme 'Managing
African National Capital for Sustainable Development and Poverty
Eradication.'
Environmental experts from 54 countries are taking part in the
conference, which is expected to debate environmental issues
affecting the continent, to reach common strategies on international
environmental issues.
The conference is also expected to discuss sustainable
development in Africa and sources of financing of environmental
programs under the umbrella of NEPAD.
The conference will also focus on harnessing Africa's natural
capital, taking into account the region's biodiversity and
ecosystems.
