International Forum on Reviving Role of State During Transition Period in Maghrebian Countries.

Sfax, 26 February 2015(Lana) The international 'forum on
Revitalizing Role of State During Transition Period in Maghrebian
Countries' was convened in the Tunisian city of Sfax on Wednesday.
The conference, in which economic social experts from Tunisia,
Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Algeria and Morocco are taking part, is being
convened with the aim of reassessing the role of state in the
development of a new economic model that cater for social justice and
equality.
Participants were scheduled to discuss several topics including
restrictions imposed by foreign institutions like the World Bank and
the International Monetary Fund on economic and social policies in
developing countries, and the proper reforms needed to achieve an
alternative development model in the South Mediterranean Arab states.
In the first day of the conference, 16 presentations were made on
the concept of state, democracy, active governance and development,
and reviving of the role of state and partnership in the public
sector.
The conference is held under the auspices of the Tunisian
Research Association for Social and Economic Development.
