Libya Considers Upgrading Production of Messala and Sarir Fields to 180.
Pulbished on:
000 bpd.
Benghazi, 26 February 2015(Lana) The Al Khaleej Oil Co. is
considering upgrading production at the Messala and Sarir fields to
180.000 bpd, a spokesman for the company said.
The field supply crude to Al Hreiga terminal.
A spokesman for Ajoko which runs the fields and Al Hreiga
terminal on Wednesday said 'we are seeking gradual production
increase to 180.000 bpd.
An oil industry source however said Al Hreiga used to handle
120.000 bpd, but there is need to supply 20.000 bpd to Tobruk
refinery, noting that the output originally stood at 18.000 before
the pipeline explosion.
With the closure of Al Hreiga terminal Libya production declined
below 200.000 bpd, against 1.3 million before the Feb. 17 uprising.
The oil fields have resumed production after the pipeline
explosion which brought supplies to Al Hreiga terminal to a halt.
