First meeting of comprehensive truce in Libya convened.

Tripoli, 23.02.2015(Lana) The first meeting of the Comprehensive Truce Initiative in Libya under the auspices of Libya Dignitary Council convened Monday morning in the presence of several independent national figures and civil society organizations. The meeting reviewed the National Truce Initiative (NTI) which aimed at realizing social peace, end all armed conflict and simplify reconciliation issues to build the state and create a positive climate for dialogue and communication among all rivals within Libya and abroad. Head of Libya Dignitary Council, Mohamed Al Mubashir told Lana that the objective of the NTI is to create social peace that does not contradict with any other political Intiative. He said the Libya Dignitary Council is competent to address social issues in cooperation with Libya Wise men Council. For his part Coordinator Libya Dignitaries of the Central region Zidan Suliman urged Libyans to support the Initiative and side with reconciliation. He urged all parties to the conflict to take national interest into account. The coordinator of the National Initiative Team Abdulnasser Abdusalam the immense efforts made by Libya Dignitary Council to launch the initiative, saying the truce initiative is considered part of Libya Salvation Initiative which is a call to create a climate for launching dialogue and reconciliation in Libya. He said the Comprehensive Truce Initiative in Libya to diffuse conflict, and upholding citizenship, tolerance and moderation. If also aims at rejecting violence and criminal behavior. It also aims at distancing state institutions as well as tribes and regions from political polarization.
