Tripoli, 22.02.2015(Lana) The GNC discussed in its Sunday session
the security and financial situation in the country and the latest
developments of the UN sponsored national dialogue.
At press conference, GNC spokesman Omar Hamidan said the GNC
discussed serious developments underwent by Libya, and issued a
statement on recent explosions and aggressions. The GNC prayed on the
souls of the martyrs who lost their lives in the bombardment of
Egyptian warplanes of Derna City, considering the attack a
violation of Libyan state sovereignty and of international
humanitarian law.
The GNC condemns the explosion in Qouba whatever the parties
behind it and offers condolences to the families of the victims. The
GNC also condemned the blast at the house of the Iranian ambassador
to Libya.
He pointed out that the GNC assigned its Political Affairs
Committee to prepare a statement in this respect, as the committee
condemned the criminal act to which the house of the Iranian
ambassador in Tripoli was subjected, but caused no human casualties,
and viewed that the repetition of such criminal acts aimed at
destabilizing the security enjoyed by the capital and to undermine
political dialogue efforts to find a peaceful solution to the current
crisis and another attempt to bring world animosity against Libya.
Hamidan explained that the GNC responded to the invitation of the
UN representative to convene the next session of the political
dialogue in sisterly Morocco or any other Arab country on which
parties to the dialogue agree in the next sessions. He also asserted
that the GNC mandated the dialogue team to communicate with
revolutionary leaders and representatives of those assemble at
squares to consult them and to brief them regularly on dialogue
developments and steps to be taken.
Hamdian said the GNC discussed the issue of National Salvation
Government and decided to hold a hearing session devoted to the
government next Tuesday.
