Algiers, 19 February 2015(Lana) British Secretary of Foreign and
Commonwealth Office Philip Hammond said 'military intervention is not
the proper solution to the Libyan crisis.'
'The aim of the effort being made is to put in place a national
unity government that's effective in combating terrorism, Hammond
said at a press conference with the Algerian Foreign Minister Ramadan
Al Amamra.
'We believe that military intervention is not the solution for
the crisis in Libya, and all efforts aim to enable Libya to put in
place a national unity government able to combat terrorism and
prevent ISIS building a base on Libyan soil, Hammond said.
He said Britain and Algeria share the same view towards
settlement of the crisis in Libya, and support the UN effort to reach
a political solution based on comprehensive dialogue.
