Organisations to Intervene to Secure
Release of its Kidnapped Officials.
Tripoli, 15 February 2015(Lana) The Libyan Human Rights
Commission on Sunday appealed to the UN Support Mission in Libya
'UNSMIL' to intervene to secure release of its CEO and a board member
who were kidnapped on Saturday.
In a statement, the Commission urged UNSMIL, office of EU mission
in Libya, Amnesty International, International Human Rights Agency,
Human Rights Watch and the UN Human Rights Commission and all key
players to intervene for their release.
Unknown armed men kidnapped the President of the Libyan Human
Rights Commission Al Hadi Bin Taleb and the member of the Board Ali
Al Usta in the capital Tripoli on Sunday.
The Libyan Human Rights Commission has repeatedly condemned acts
of kidnapping against political activists, civil society leaders and
journalists in the capital Tripoli.
