Tripoli, 12 February 2015(Lana) The Libyan basket ball squad will
not take part in the 2nd leg of the African basket ball Championship
for area No 1, which due to kick off in Morocco next week, because of
the lack of visas.
The Libyan Basket Ball Union addressed a letter to the African
Basket Ball Union, explaining reasons that barred the Libyan squad
from attending, the Union Chairman Abdul Hakim Ma'atoug said.
The Libyan union said it preserved its right to material
compensation for the training camps it staged in anticipation for the
games, transport and rehearsals both inside and outside Libya, and
the Union's right to qualify for the nations finals due in Tunis next
summer.
The Libyan team lost the first leg matches to Algeria and Algeria
and Morocco, and was slated to take on the two teams on Feb, 13 and
14 in the second leg, Mat'oug said.
