Civil Registry Opens Offices in Neighboring Countries to Offer National Number Services.

Tripoli, 8 February 2015(Lana) The civil registry has announced
that in coordination with Libyan embassies and consulates, it would
open offices in neighboring countries, in which there are large
Libyan communities, to offer national number services and other
services to Libyans living temporarily in those countries.
The step came after the Central Bank of Libya announced that no
salaries or grants would be paid without a national number, and as
part of the upgrading programme the authority is introducing to
improve services to Libyan expats.
The authority said an agreement was reached with the Libyan
consulate in Tunisia, to open the first office to provide its
services as of Feb.15.
Similar offices will soon be opened in Jordan and Morocco, it
said.
