Press statement on content of British Times interview of head of GNS.
Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 05.02.2015(Lana) Information Department of the
Government of National Salvation (GNS) released a press statement on
the content of the British times newspaper interview with the head of
GNS.
The statement said the content of the interview was consistent
with the logical analysis and an account of developments from the
beginning of Libya Dawn Operations up to the minute.
Mr. Omar Hassi pointed out that the General Staff is
subordinated to the GNC from which it gets its instructions directly,
and it is not subordinated to the Ministry of Defense, the statement
explained. The GNC is the body that declared state of alert when
operation started, and therefore, the Government of National
Salvation has no competence to declare war or peace or halt the
advance of forces of general staff, it added.
The statement underscored that the GNS considers that cutting
that part of the interview and airing it on one of the channels was
to undermine the growing satisfaction of the Libyan street especially
revolutionaries with the performance of GNS.
The Information Department underlined at the end of its
statement; " As we release this statement, we confirm that both head
and members of GNS are navigating with Libya's revolutionaries and
free people on the same boat to cruise Libya into the safe shores and
the heroic revolutionaries of Libya are the safety valve of the
country, and its sun that lights the years of darkness, injustices
and tyrannies, and that the government, its policies, plans and
programmers are geared to serve the homeland, support its revolution
and revolutionaries until victory and enduring peace is attained"
