Tripoli, 05.02.2015(Lana) Common Operations Room of General Staff
has confirmed that actions carried out by Sharouq Operations last
Tuesday was in response to the actions of the armed groups
controlling oil ports, when they bombarded with artilleries Sharouq
positions Sunday and Monday, first and second of February and
launchings air raid by Hafter warplanes on Sedra region.
In a statement - a copy of which was received by Lana- it said
Sharouq forces preserve the right to respond to the source of
gunfire or any move that may threaten its positions.
.
Common Operations Room of General Staff referred in its statement to
UNSMIL description, on its website, of Sharouq forces as armed
groups, which is unacceptable, according to the statement, since the
forces are affiliated to the General Staff of the Libyan army, and
Government of National Salvation and the GNC.
The room expressed surprise at UNSMIL silence over actions of
the rogue forces controlling the oil ports, and which transferred
them into air bases from which warplanes take off to strike at
civilian sites and infrastructure of several Libyan cities and
villages.
The Room concluded its statement by encouraging dialogue among
all Libyan sides, as envisaged by the GNC, the sole representative
of the Libyan people.
