Algiers, 3 February 2015(Lana) Italian Foreign Minister Paolo
Gentiloni on Monday said 'his government and that of Algeria are
working together so that the UN Envoy to Libya Bernardino Leon can
convince Libyan non-participants in the latest Geneva talks to join
the dialogue.'
'All kinds of political pressure will be used on Tripoli, and
indeed on those who did not take part in the Geneva meetings, the
Italian Aki news agency quoted Gentiloni as saying after meeting his
Algerian counterpart Ramadan Ala Amamra.
Gentilone stressed that the solution of the Libyan crisis is not
through division of the country or the military option, but rather
through a national reconciliation process, indicating that both Italy
and Algeria support the work undertaken by Leon, to bring the Libyan
parties to the national dialogue table.
