CBL Governor Meets EU Ambassadors.

Tripoli, 26 January 2015(Lana) The Governor of the Central Bank
of Libya Al Sidiq Alkabir has discussed Libya's state finances with
the Ambassadors of France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Finland,
Sweden, Holland, Malta, Portugal, Belgium, Romania and Czech
Republic, at a meeting held in the Tunisian capital.
The Governor briefed the Ambassadors on the public spending in
Libya in 2014 as well as the revenues and state deficit.
He also discussed the content of his talks with the World Bank
over its preparedness to offer technical assistance in working the
2015 budget, and to determine the priorities for this phase, and the
assault on the CBL branch in Benghazi.
There was an emphasis on the role played by the Central Bank of
Libya, the neutral position it is taking vis avis the conflict, and
also the need to keep the bank solid, to offer services and alleviate
the suffering of all Libyans.
