01.2015 (Lana) Turkish envoy to Libya, Emrullah
Isler, underscored that any outside military intervention in Libya
would deepen the crisis facing the country.
This came in a statement by Isler following his return from
Algeria where he discussed with officials there ways to deal with the
Libyan crisis.
At a press conference he held at Ankara airport Sunday morning he
said sincere efforts made by the Libyans to salvage their country
from chaos make him optimistic.
The Turkish envoy met in Algeria, deputy foreign minister on
charge of Maghreb and African affairs, Abdulqader Misahel. He said
the view points of Turkey and Algeria are identical regarding the
ways to address the Libyan crisis, and restoring stability to the
country. Collaboration between the two sides is continuing, he
added.
Isler stressed that the Turkish view point in solving the Libyan
crisis is clear. It is based on inclusive sound dialogue of all
Libyan parties, he added. He noted Turkish support to UN efforts to
conduct dialogue among the Libyan parties. He underscored the
importance of a ceasefire to make the dialogue process a success.
He expressed hope that the Libyans agree on a political
approach, set up a government of national unity to apply a road map
that realizes that approach.
