Tunisian authorities foils narcotics smuggling operation Tunis, 21 January 2015(Lana) Tunisian Customs authorities have foiled a narcotics trafficking operation into Libya, the second in less than ten days.

Tunisian news agency reported Tuesday that members of the border
customs office at the Ras Jadier Lobyan-Tunisian common border
crossing point seized 143 pieces of narcotics hidden in a car with
Foriegn number plates and driven by a citizen of a neighbouring
country.
The agency did not disclose the nationality of the arrested person
nor that of the other suspected individual.
The drug weighs 34.562 kg it said.
The disclosure comes after nine days from the announcement of the
Tunisian authorities of seizing about 3 tons of narcotics hidden in a
yacht with three people on board having European nationalities.
Tunisian Ministry of Interior spokesman, Mohamed Erwai announced
January 11, that the seizure of this big quantity of narcotics was
carried out by Anti-Narcotics team at the Recreational Port of
Yasmain Al-Hamamatsu City, Nabal state, north east the capital
Tunis.
