UNSMIL welcomes GNC decision to join dialogue.

Tripoli, 19.01.2015(Lana) United Nations Support Mission to Libya
welcomed Sunday GNC accession to the new round of talks aimed at
reaching a political solution to the fighting in the country.
UNSMIL underlined in a statement posted on its website that the step
led to broadening of the support base of the process endeavoring to
restore security and stability.
It considered in its statement that the increasing support to
dialogue indicates all parties are ready to set together and discuss
ways to end conflict.
It renewed its emphasis on the importance of rallying of efforts to
take the decision on the ideal way to build sound and democratic
Libya based on sovereignty of law and respect of human rights.
In a statement it said; 'Libyans must not miss this opportunity if
they wanted to salvage their country from further destruction and
speed up the forthcoming session'
UNSMIL pointed out that parties to the talks agreed on the need to
give priority to convene the talks in Libya if logistic and security
conditions are provided.
It said it is conducting consultations with the concerned Libyan
parties before starting the next talks to identify an acceptable
venue that provides greater degree of security to the participants.
