GNC Adamant Dialogue Must be Conducted on Libyan Soil Tripoli, 19 January 2015(Lana) The General National Congress on Sunday stated its commitment to conducting the UN-sponsored dialogue on Libyan soil and suggested Ghat as a venue.

The GNC stressed in a statement its adherence to the objectives of the Feb 17 Revolution, the constitutional declaration and the constitutional court ruling as undisputable basis for any political solution. The statement said the GNC was prepared to take part in any discussion that would lead to a solution to the country's crisis, end bloodshed and reinforce the state's control over its institutions in line with the afore-said principles. The GNC authorized President Nuri Abu Sahmain to coordinate with the Army Staff, the Supreme Defence Council, the NSG and revolutionaries leaders to put in place the proper mechanisms to make the dialogue a success. According to the statement, the GNC commissioned the dialogue team to coordinate with UNSMIL on the time and provisions of the dialogue and to report back to the assembly. =Lana=
