Tripoli, 15.01.2015 (Lana) The GNC reaffirmed its desire to
address the Libyan crisis politically and communicate with the
international parties represented by head of UN mission to Libya in
order to realize its vision for current crisis through the political
track.
In televised address Thursday evening, GNC President, Nuri
Abusahmain said; "GNC formed a dialogue team, and reassured the UN
envoy Mr. Bernardino Leon about GNC seriousness to address the crisis
through dialogue and respect of state institutions'.
'The GNC mandated dialogue team confirmed to UNSMIL head the need for
a clear and transparent criteria for selection of parties to the
dialogue and its venue for its success, however UN mission rushed in
announcing names of interlocutors and venue of dialogue before
consulting the GNC, he explained.
GNC accepted to hold dialogue with Libyan parties with different
opinions after the high court ruling, but UN mission did not comply
with the dialogue mechanism, and what had been agreed on was that the
GNC mandated dialogue team should return back to the GNC on all
issues presented to it so the final decision to be taken by the GNC.
He pointed out that the UN mission rushed to communicate with
parties without giving a final list to the GNC mandated team and
without agreement on the agenda, indicating that the dialogue could
fail or not reach desired outcome that can be applied on the ground.
He confirmed that the GNC is to continue with its efforts to call
on the UN to realize the errors and rectify the track of dialogue in
order to be fruitful without any rush and imposing of opinions, a
matter that would not serve the Libyan reality and its international
and regional partners.
GNC President stressed commitment to the identified invariables
that is commitment to the goals and principles of 17 February
Revolution and compliance with Constitutional Declaration, and
judiciary rules, including rules passed by constitutional chamber
and not to conduct dialogue with those wanted by the judiciary.
