01.2015 (Lana) Head of UNSMIL, Bernardino Leon
announced that Geneva dialogue would present proposals and would be
debated and supported by most Libyans.
At a press conference held in Geneva Wednesday, Leon said; Geneva
dialogue round will not take a decision, but will present proposals
and would be debated and supported by most Libyans, and Libyan
parties will set together and other parties will be representing
municipalities, militias, political parties, tribe chiefs and leaders
to reach an agreement and a way out to this deep crisis, with the
consensus of most Libyans'.
Those present with us today already started to launch the
process, and I confirm that consecutive meetings would be held not
only in Geneva but probably in Libya and other countries.
Leon asserted that the Libyan dialogue was aimed at reaching a
solution satisfactory to all parties in accordance with the
principles of respect of democracy, 17 February Revolution and its
values, the Constitutional Declaration, the legislative, executive
authorities and the judiciary and agree on a government of national
unity that comprise all Libyans.
"It is high time to confront all the problems and eschew a
massive anarchy in the country, and that the moral of those already
arrived and those to decide to join us is high and very positive'
Leon added.
