Municipal Councils Elections Committee completes 91 municipality Tripoli, 08.

01.2015(Lana) The Central Committee of Municipal Council Elections announced Thursday the completion of elections in 91 municipalities, and completed procedures of 75 municipalities in terms of election of the mayors. The committee said it cooperated with over 30,000 staff in more than 1500 polling station, and printed over three million ballots thanks to rallying of efforts with the election process partners across the country. The committee, however, revealed that it is facing a difficult financial crisis which would negatively impact the completion of the election process of the remaining municipalities including the stage of selecting and appointing mayors in recently elected municipalities, and municipal councils which are now in the process of registration and polling. The Central Committee underlined that it explained to the parties concerned its financial position and asked for disbursing the remaining budget. It noted that since its formation it received only half of its allocated budget. It called on the competent authorities to shoulder their responsibility and disburse the other half of its budget to be able to complete the election process of municipal councils, for this work regarded one of the most important goals to be materialized in the new Libya. =Lana=
