Tripoli, 8 January 2015(Lana) 'Time and visions were running out
and if political dialogue cannot be salvaged, the international
community has to think and talk differently in Libya, the Head of the
United Nations Support Mission in Libya UNSMIL Leonardo Leon said.
'If we cannot move forward towards a solution in Libya, the thing
which will clarify in the coming weeks, we will have to resort to
different kind of solutions that could take longer, undermine the
opportunity and further complicate the situation in the country, Leon
said in an interview with CNN on Wednesday.
'The spread of violence and the latest round of clashes have
aggravated the conflict which could spill over to engulf the whole
country, and increase the political, military and economic chaos.'
The dialogue agenda includes first to form a unity government,
second to agree on measures that boost stability including a
ceasefire and pull out of all the armed men from public places and
third to the issue of control and monitoring which the international
community should have a role in it, he told the news channel.
He also called for reviving the constitutional process; to
include the constitution in the dialogue process which can be a
unifying factor for Libyans.
This is the only way to stop the current bloodshed and anarchy in
country, Leon said adding that he was confident that the
international community realized that the status quo in Libya
constituted a 'major problem' for all.
