The Customs Authority explained in a statement that the discovery of the sum was made in cooperation with members of the Anti-Smuggling and Drug Control Department during a routine inspection of passengers' luggage on Friday. The sum was found hidden inside one of the bags.

The Authority added that the Meatiga Airport Customs Center has begun taking preliminary legal measures, and that the case file will later be referred to the competent judicial authorities for further investigation.
