Mnifi chairs meeting of technical committee.

Tripoli, August 19, 2025 (LANA) – The media office of the Presidential Council reported that the President of the Council and Chairman of the Higher Finance Committee, Mohammed Al-Mnifi, chaired the first meeting of the technical committee emanating from the Higher Finance Committee this morning, Tuesday, concerned with monitoring the operating and investment expenditures of the National Oil Corporation and the General Electricity Company, with all its members in attendance.

The office explained that the meeting was devoted to discussing the most prominent challenges and obstacles impeding financial and administrative reform, particularly those related to conducting a comprehensive and accurate review of the legal, technical, and financial aspects of all contracts concluded in the oil and electricity sectors over the past five years.

The office quoted Al-Mnifi stressing the importance of subjecting all contracts to strict legal oversight and verifying their compliance with applicable national legislation and regulations, in a manner that preserves the state's sovereignty and protects its resources. He also emphasized the need for close coordination with relevant oversight and judicial bodies.

According to the office, the head of the technical committee and its members affirmed their continued technical communication with the team of experts of the Sanctions Committee established pursuant to Security Council Resolution 1970 of 2011, to ensure full compliance with international resolutions, without compromising Libya's sovereignty or compromising the rights and resources of its people.
