New York, June 24, 2025 (LANA) - Russia's representative to the UN Security Council stressed that the current situation in Libya is the result of political divisions, calling for a comprehensive political process to end the country's crisis.

In his address to the Security Council session on Libya on Tuesday, he said that the lack of consensus among Libyans has led to the erosion of the security situation in the country.

The Russian representative called for efforts to unify the Libyan armed forces and reintegrate fighters into official institutions so that calm can prevail throughout Libya.

The Russian representative added that recovery solutions cannot be imposed on the people, and the recommendations of the Advisory Committee have not been welcomed by the political forces.
