US Ambassador to the UN: Military integration is important to support Libya's sovereignty.

New York, June 24, 2025 (LANA) - The US Ambassador to the Security Council stressed that the meeting of the International Follow-up Committee for the Berlin Process was an opportunity for the international community to demonstrate its support for a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned political process.
In her speech during the UN Security Council session on Libya on Tuesday, she said that the independence of institutions, including the Central Bank and the National Oil Corporation, is important to ensure Libya's stability.
She indicated that military integration is important to support Libya's sovereignty so it does not become involved in regional conflicts, and this is what the United States supports.
The US Ambassador continued, "We encourage the security integration process between East and West and welcome the renewal of the arms embargo."
She added that the Libyan people have made clear their unwillingness to become involved in other conflicts in the Sahel region and Sudan.
