Minister of Oil discusses with the Weatherford company arrangements for returning to work in Libya.

Tripoli, 7 May 2025 (Lana): Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Abdul-Sadiq discussed with a delegation from the American company Weatherford yesterday the executive steps for the company's resumption of operations and its work in developing the oil and gas sector in Libya.
The head of the delegation, Deputy CEO Richard Ward, confirmed that the company is already working to return to operations in Libya, noting that it has begun preparing the administrative headquarters and the field site in the Jalu 59 field.
During the meeting, Ward expressed their aspiration to contribute effectively to the development of the Libyan oil sector and enhance its production capacity, according to the ministry on its Facebook page.
For his part, Minister Abdul-Sadiq welcomed the ongoing efforts to return Weatherford to operations in Libya, noting the important role of specialized international companies in supporting and developing the Libyan oil and gas sector.
He also reiterated the ministry's readiness to provide all necessary facilities to ensure the company's rapid and effective return.
