The 163rd Session of the Council of the Arab League kicks-off.

Cairo | April 23, 2025 (LANA) - The 163rd regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level began today, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of delegations from member states.

The Libyan delegation to this session was headed by Taher Salem Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

During this session, the Council discussed a number of priority issues on the regional and international arenas, most notably the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, developments in the region, and developments in Libya.

The Council affirmed its steadfast support for Libya's sovereignty and unity, stressing the importance of Libyan ownership of the political process and welcoming all efforts aimed at holding presidential and parliamentary elections that would end the transitional phases and consolidate the democratic process.
